Brief Description:
A 3D/2N tour package focusing on the magnificent Ifugao Rice Terraces and Immersion in the unique and colorful culture of the Ifugaos.
Sites:
- Banaue and the Villages of Banga-an and Batad
Banaue is approximately 333 kilometers from Manila and about 8 hours traveling time by land. At the Banaue Rice Terraces Viewpoint, one gets a sweeping view of the centuries-old terraces. This is a perfect spot on top of a plateau for taking pictures of the rice terraces with much larger and deeper magnitude.
- Village of Banaga -an
There is an alternative for those who cannot make the two-hour hike to Batad. Proceed to the village of Batad. Here you can just stand by the roadside and idle your hours away gazing at the fascinating environs. On summer afternoons (March to May), just before sunset, you can see rainbows against the setting sun at the horizon. Banga-an is 14 kilometers from Banaue proper.
- Batad Rice Terraces
 Batad Rice Terraces take an amphitheater-lie formation. The trip to Batad takes practically the whole day and is recommended only to strong hikers. From Banaue, Batad is approximately 16 kilometers with the 4 kilometer approach to be traversed by foot on mountain trails. Batad can be reached after a two-hour hike from the Banaue-Mayoyao road starting at the Batad junction.
Activities:
Viewing of the rice terraces and trekking to the villages to witness Ifugao traditional practices and cultural immersion and cave exploration.
Facilities:
Accommodation facilities, transportation, restaurants and souvenir shops mostly concentrated in the municipality of Banaue.
Services:
Homestays, local tour guiding services and performances of organized cultural groups featuring the songs, dances and rituals of the Ifugaos.
