MT. KANLAON TREKKING 4D/3N (MAMBUKAL - GUINTUBDAN TRAIL)
Mt. Kanlaon. Found in the north-central highlands of Negros Island, is one of the 13 most active volcanoes in the country. Towering to a majestic height of approximately 2,465 meters (asl), Mt. Kanlaon is the highest peak in Central Philippines and has been declared as one of the ten Priority Protected Area under the NIPAS Law.
The entire mountain range, with an area of roughly 25,000-hectares of lush wilderness that is home to a variety of exotic flora and fauna, has been declared a Natural Park in 1938, in consideration of its ecological, recreational, educational, aesthetic aspects and scientific importance as well. The most dominant and attractive feature of the Mt. Kanlaon Park is the summit-crater of Kanlaon volcano.
Considered as “sacred” volcano of Sugarlandia, Mt. Kanlaon has been revered as the abode of the “Gods” by our ancient ancestors. Mt. Kanlaon is also the symbol of Negrenses pride, culture, and heritage.
This particular Program offers a day of visit to the premiere mountain resort in Negros Occidental. Mambukal Mountain Resort is the only one in the Province that has the hotsprings as an attraction, in addition to the number of waterfalls that made Mambukal famous.
Climbers who may want to avail of a standard CITY TOUR OF BACOLOD will have to be in Bacolod in the morning.
