MT. PINATUBO CRATER TOUR (Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac)


Conquering Wolrd Famous Mt. Pinatubo

Mt. Pinatubo is home to Apo Malyari, “The Great Provider” and the spirits of the ancestors of some 30,000 nomadic Aeta Negritos found in the higher elevation settlements in Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales Provinces.

On June 15, 1991, after 500 years of peaceful slumber, Mt. Pinatubo exploded into the sky, blowing off a 300 meter cap. The volcanic eruption shot 35 kilometers into the sky, showering an area of 200 square kilometers with millions of tons of ash and rock and creating a crater lake of 2.5 kilometers wide.

Things to Do:

An opportunity to relish the peace and quite of the 2.5 km jewel blue crater lake of Mt. Pinatubo in Botolan, Zambales via Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac; drive on board 4x4 all weather jeep along O’Donnell streambed; hike up to the crater for 3 hours and back.

 


Tour Inclusions:

Guided tour (Aeta guides), use of 4x4 all weather vehicle, donation for conservation, certificate of conquest. Options: Day tour or overnight accommodation.

Value added amenities:
Volcano watching, Aeta community immersion, photo safari, nature appreciation, camping and outdoor living exercises.

Tour Costs:

Jeep hire: P3,500.00 (3 pax capacity), mountain guide fee: P500 (per 5 pax), conservation fee: P20 per tourist. Optional: Hotel: P800 – P1,200/pax on twin accommodation; homestay – P150/pax; retreat house – P150 - P200 - P300/pax.




How to Get There:

From Manila, take the North Luzon Expressway; exit Dau Toll Plaza (to establish contact with 4x4 jeep); take to the McArthur Hway towards north; upon reaching town market in Capas, Tarlac, turn left to Bgy. Sto. Rosario; proceed to Bgy. Sta. Juliana – the last frontier.
